The phone fits snuggly in the case. The hinged door allows for the phone to go in and out of the case easily. Phone is secure in the case.
The not so good stuff:
Being as though the case is aluminum, it attenuates (causes to go down) the signal on the phone. In areas where you would usually have full signal the case will drop the signal down a bar or two. In areas where your signal is weak to begin with, it is likely that you will not have a signal at all. I found that I was taking the phone out of the case to talk, especially when driving or in places like the mall. The case made it hard to connect to my bluetooth as well.
The case is not an exact fit for the phone as it block a small amount of the bottom portion of the screen and if you have average to big fingers it will make it hard for you to get to the keys that are closest to the sides of the opening for the keys. The keys on the Blackberry Pearl are small enough, you don’t need something keeping you from getting to them. I found that I was constantly opening the phone to send text messages, or update my calendar, anything that required me to use the key pad.
So all said, when I did was not using the phone, I put it in the case. If I was waiting for a “can’t miss call”, in my car, at the mall, texting or using the key pad for any reason, I took the phone out of the case. Needless to say the only time that phone was in the case was when I did not want to be bothered with taking it out of the case.

i work in a warehouse so for this reason this case was deffinately a good purchase
but there are a few things buyers should be aware of
it makes the pearl seem a bit bulky
the hinges dont feel to secure, if it breaks im sure thats where it will be at
the bottom half inch of the screen is cut off
not too bad, but if you use the theme where you have the icons on the bottom it blocks them out
not the words that pop up however, such as when the message button is highlighted it will say “Messages (2)” above it
the way it clips close doesnt feel to secure either
like it will pop open
the clip to holster it to your hip (which is optional to put on)
hangs off your hip wayyy too far, it looks like a phone is branching off your hip
hope this helps
